Who we Serve
Partnership for Children supports families with a child (ages birth through 21) diagnosed with a serious illness. We currently serve families living in Monterey, Santa Cruz, and San Benito Counties in California.
Family-Centered Support
Families are at the heart of everything we do. We meet each family where they are — with care, flexibility, and respect. Whether a family needs one service or many, we work together to find the right fit. And when we can’t meet a need directly, we help connect families to trusted community partners who can.
Services
Transportation
Getting to medical care shouldn’t be a barrier to comfort, care, or hope. We provide rides and gas assistance so families can reach hospitals and specialists — often hours away — and ensure their child receives the support they need, whatever the journey holds.
Financial Assistance
We offer support for essential expenses like rent, utilities, and more. Working alongside hospital social workers and partner agencies, we help ease financial burdens so families can focus on caring for their child.
Groceries
No family should have to choose between food, housing, or healthcare. We provide monthly food deliveries (currently in Monterey County) and connect families with community resources for food.
Practical Support
From diapers to car seats to backpacks and school supplies, we help families with practical items that can be hard to afford or access — especially while managing a child’s serious illness.
Social Connections
Families facing serious illness shouldn’t feel alone. We create opportunities for connection through inclusive gatherings and recreational activities that bring joy, support, and friendship.
Holiday Celebrations
We believe in celebrating the moments that matter. From Valentine’s cards to Easter baskets to our magical Winter Wonderland celebration and Miles of Smiles holiday program, we spread joy and comfort during the holiday season.
Sprinkles of Happiness! Birthday Celebrations
Every birthday is worth celebrating — especially for a child living with serious illness. Our new birthday program delivers personalized cards and special surprises to bring smiles to each child and sibling we serve. More to come as we grow!
